If These Walls Could Talk: Introduction
This is an introductory piece exploring some of the public and private buildings in East Kingston. If these walls could talk, what tales they could tell! East Kingston with its depot was a Victorian summer spot where Bostonians came north for the cool breezes and country life.
Driving down Depot Road, many have wondered about the history of the house on the hill. The Davis family was kind enough to share some stories and a little digging brought to light some more information about former owners.
Just across the street from the Davis Home, Poplar Hill, high on another hill stands a great example of turn of the century, brick architecture. If you have been inside the building that is now the home of town offices, you will have seen that much of the interior remains intact.
