Every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., visitors can experience the professional-caliber Elite Flight Simulator, which will be operating and staffed by experienced volunteers. The flight simulator, which is included with museum admission, is suitable for those age 13 and above. No reservations needed; the simulator runs on a first-come, first-served basis. https://aviationmuseumofnh.org/
It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that Sherlock, EKPL’s mascot Guinea Pig, died peacefully in his sleep in December. There was no prolonged illness nor injury. Sherlock, alongside his brother Watson, were adopted by the library in August of 2021. After Watson passed in fall of 2023, Sherlock has been a focal point for many visits to the library every day. He so enjoyed being hand fed little bits of hay or veggies from his small (and big!) friends. Our days will be different without his greetings every morning and his little chirps demanding his afternoon snacks. We are so very sad and expect some of our patrons may be, also. We want this notice to give you enough time to prepare your children for his absence on your next visit. We have placed several children’s books about losing a pet in the area where Sherlock formerly resided. We will miss you, Sherlock
You can also use this as an opportunity to suggest ideas for library-hosted programs.  How'd we choose? Our self-imposed rules were the books must be (1) published in 2024 and (2) available to our patrons through physical copies at the library or eBooks on Libby. |
