This is better than the entertainment books because local businesses update their coupon offers frequently. | Friends Fundraiser: Affinity Program offered by TD Bank |
Want to help The Friends raise money to support the Library? Here’s how you can help… TD Bank has created the Affinity Program as a way to support community organizations. If you are a current customer or plan to open an account with TD Bank (receive $25 when you open a checking account), please contact your branch, give them the code number A3259 (for The Friends) along with your account information. (Please keep in mind that your account information will remain PRIVATE and that this program is at NO COST to you.) TD Bank will make an annual contribution based on the average balance in ALL members’ accounts that have been designated for The Friends. (We need a minimum of 50 accounts in order to participate in this program.)

| FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT- The Muppets (Rated PG) |

| Bring the whole family for an evening of free fun at the Library! Dress the kids in their pj's and let them bring a sleeping bag or stuffed animal to snuggle with and get comfy on the floor. Bring water to drink - no other drinks allowed, and we will provide popcorn for all. This is a great opportunity to get the family out for some fun, and we understand that it is also a good time to see if little ones will sit through a public screening of a movie. We do ask that if anyone is having trouble sitting and watching the movie quietly that they step out or try again a different time. This way, everyone can hear and enjoy the film. Do you know what to do if a family member or friend has a cardiac arrest? Pre-registration is required as class size is limited. You can sign up at the EK Public Library or call 642-8333. The American Heart Association course will consist of instruction and practice of skills for adult, child and infant CPR. Certificates will be issued for satisfactory completion.

Join us May 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the East Kingston Public Library, 47 Maplevale Road, East Kingston, NH for a program on Choosing Natural Healing presented by Dr. Dan Eyink. This talk will focus on effectively combining nutrition therapy, acupuncture and the best of Chinese & Western medicine to significantly improve health. Dr. Dan will explain in detail how chronic diseases such as heart disease or diabetes can be avoided or reversed by following his natural healing protocols. Attendees will discover the importance of excellent nutrition to their overall health and will learn simple methods they can incorporate into their everyday lives to take a more proactive role in their health outcomes. After his talk, Dr. Dan will demonstrate Nutrition Response Testing, the method he uses to determine what is going on within the body and what it needs to be healthy. Following the NRT demonstration, Dr. Dan will be happy to take questions from the audience. Bio: Dr. Dan has been practicing medicine in Newburyport since 1998. Prior to founding Dr. Dan’s Natural Healing Center in Newburyport, he was a Primary Care/Internal Medicine physician at Newburyport Medical Associates. In founding Dr. Dan’s in 2009, Dr. Dan has fulfilled his long term goal to open a practice devoted to helping people heal and maintain their highest level of health using totally natural treatments. | SPRING BOOK & BAKE SALE |

The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library are holding their Spring Book & Bake Sale on Friday and Saturday, June 1 & 2, 2012. The sale will be held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday at the Pound School Book Shop, 41 Depot Road (Rt. 107), East Kingston, NH. Browse a large selection of gently used books, audio books and children’s movies. Hardcovers will be sold for 50¢, paperbacks 25¢ and children’s books 2 for 25¢. While you shop, stop by the baked goods table for a home made snack, enjoy a free cup of coffee, and/or choose from a wide selection of baked goods to take home! There will also be a raffle of Red Sox items just in time for Father’s Day. The winner will be drawn on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the library. Raffle tickets will also be available at the library until the drawing. Donations of good-condition books, DVD’s, audio books will be gratefully accepted. You can drop them off at the Used Book Shop on Fridays between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm and Saturdays between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm or if this is not convinient, at the East Kingston Public Library.
